Life is full of choices. I guess you could say they are risks. Somethings will turn out good, while some of our choices will turn out bad. Of course there are wise choices and foolish choices but generally most of them fall somewhere in between.
To risk is to try something new. Something which has the possibility of success or failure. There is always the element of the unknown when we take a risk. It is so easy to play it safe and not take risks in life but isn't taking risks what life is all about?
Most successful people have failed many times in their lives but something kept them going. I think it is because they have an optimistic view and don't see there failures as the end. Most risks have some hope of a reward to them. We believe that it will have a good outcome.
We should not ask ourselves what happens if I fail ?, but rather what happens if I don't try. What opportunity will I miss? Sure it may cost me time, money, humiliation if I don't succeed, but those things can actually produce more determination in the long run to success.
You just never know until you try !

Valentine's Validation
Today is Valentine's Day. A lot of people will receive flowers and candy today but a lot of people will not. To some people it is a Happy Day but for others a Sad Day. I guess it all comes from our expectations. Sure, everyone wants to be loved and affirmed but really, we can only truly do that for ourselves.
Today, I can decide to love myself in a healthy way (not narcissistic) Give myself kudos and congrats for the good things and people in my life.
Today, I realize that I am unconditionally loved and created by God who loved me and created me even before I was even born.

How Are You Doing ?
How are you doing ? That is usually the next thing we say after hello. We don't really mean it as a question. We don't really want an answer. It is done more as a habit. I remember back in college though, when the question caught me off guard. I said how are you doing to someone in the hallway and he replied; "I'm doing terrrible! I've failed two classes and my Grandfather died!" Oops, that wasn't what I wanted to hear or what did I want to hear?
So from now on, when asking "how are you doing", ask yourself if you really care or if it is just to fill in the blank!
